A food truck moves, and that's the whole challenge. Regulars want to know where you'll be this week, event planners want to book you, and new customers find you by searching "food truck near me" or your truck's name. A simple website handles all three better than a feed of posts.
Features a food truck website should have
- Schedule and locations. Today's stop and the week ahead, with addresses and hours. Keep it on the homepage, and keep it updated; an out-of-date schedule is worse than none.
- Menu with prices. Text, not just a photo of the board, so it loads fast and Google can read it. Mark what's seasonal or sells out.
- Catering and private events. A request form asking for date, time, address, headcount, budget, and whether there's power and parking. Our guide to catering quote request forms lists the fields that save back-and-forth.
- Pre-ordering. Optional, but it shortens lines at lunch stops and office parks. See online ordering without third-party fees for the options.
- Alerts. A text or email sign-up so fans hear when you're nearby or dropping a special.
- Photos and reviews. Real photos of the truck and food, and genuine customer reviews.
- Social links. Link to Instagram and Facebook, and link back to the website from your bio.
Website vs. Instagram
Keep posting on social media. The website doesn't replace it; it gives your social posts somewhere permanent to point. It's also what Google shows when someone searches your name, and it's where event planners expect to find a booking form.
Don't forget your Google Business Profile
Food trucks can use a Google Business Profile as a service-area business, with hours, photos, menu and reviews. Our Google Business Profile checklist walks through the setup.
